Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

1.1 The promoter of this competition is Nookas (Pty) Ltd T/A Wineries.co.za, registration number 2025/483565/07, with its address at 24 Black Eagle Road, Onrus, Hermanus, 7201 (“the Promoter”, “Wineries”, “Wineries.co.za”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1.2 These Terms and Conditions apply to the Wineries.co.za Wine Competition (“the Competition”).

1.3 By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Competition Period

2.1 The Competition opens at 01h00 on 16 June 2026 and closes 23h00 on 31 August 2026.

2.2 All times referred to in these Terms and Conditions are South African Standard Time.

2.3 Entries received after the closing date and time will not be considered.

3. Eligibility

3.1 The Competition is open to natural persons who:

  1. are 18 years or older at the time of entry;
  2. are resident in, or located in, South Africa or Namibia; and
  3. have a valid delivery address in South Africa.

3.2 Entrants from Namibia may enter, but prizes will only be delivered to a valid delivery address in South Africa.

3.3 Entrants must provide accurate personal information when entering, including their full name, date of birth, email address, telephone number and any other information required on the entry form.

3.4 Winners must provide a valid identity document or other acceptable proof of identity and age when requested. The name and date of birth on the proof of identity must match the details submitted on entry.

3.5 No prize will be awarded, released or delivered to any person under the age of 18.

3.6 The Competition is not open to directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, contractors or suppliers of the Promoter, participating wineries, marketing service providers, or any person directly involved in the Competition, including their spouses, life partners, business partners and immediate family members.

3.7 The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who does not meet the eligibility requirements or who breaches these Terms and Conditions.

4. How to Enter

4.1 To enter, eligible entrants must complete and submit the official Competition entry form at wineries.co.za/competition.

4.2 No purchase is required to enter the Competition.

4.3 Only one entry profile per person is permitted.

4.4 Entrants may receive additional points or chances in the lucky draw by completing optional actions made available on the Competition page. These actions may include signing up to newsletters, engaging with campaign content, or referring up to five friends.

4.5 Additional points increase an entrant’s chances of being selected in the lucky draw but do not guarantee that the entrant will win.

4.6 Where newsletter signup or other marketing consent is offered as an action, that consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn using the applicable unsubscribe or opt-out process.

4.7 Where referral actions are offered, entrants must only refer people whom they know and who they reasonably believe would be interested in the Competition.

4.8 Automated entries, bulk entries, entries generated by scripts, duplicated profiles, false referrals, fraudulent entries, or entries that manipulate or attempt to manipulate the Competition process may be disqualified.

5. Prizes

5.1 There will be three winners.

5.2 The prizes are:

  1. First Prize: 60 bottles of wine;
  2. Second Prize: 42 bottles of wine; and
  3. Third Prize: 18 bottles of wine.

5.3 The total prize pool consists of 120 bottles of wine.

5.4 Each bottle is a standard 750 ml bottle.

5.5 The prize pool is made up of wine sponsored by participating wineries.

5.6 The prize pool includes one case of six bottles from each participating winery, with one participating winery contributing two cases.

5.7 Details of the wine bottles included in the Competition are available on the Competition page.

5.8 Wine brands, cultivars, vintages and bottle allocation may be subject to availability. The Promoter may substitute any wine with a wine of similar nature and value if necessary.

5.9 Prizes are not transferable, refundable or exchangeable for cash, credit or any other alternative.

5.10 The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications, personal costs or incidental expenses arising from acceptance or use of a prize.

6. Winner Selection

6.1 Winners will be selected by a weighted lucky draw from valid eligible entries after the Competition has closed.

6.2 The draw will take place online at 08h00 on 1 September 2026.

6.3 The draw will be conducted by or under the supervision of [insert independent accountant / registered auditor / attorney / advocate / other suitably independent person].

6.4 The winner selection will take into account the points or chances allocated to each eligible entrant. Entrants with more points will have a higher chance of being selected.

6.5 The Promoter’s decision regarding winners is final, subject to applicable law.

7. Winner Notification and Verification

7.1 Winners will be contacted by email and telephone using the details submitted on entry.

7.2 A selected winner must respond within seven calendar days of the Promoter’s first notification attempt.

7.3 If a selected winner does not respond within seven calendar days, cannot be contacted, fails verification, is found to be ineligible, refuses the prize, or is unable to accept delivery in South Africa, the Promoter may select an alternative winner.

7.4 Before receiving a prize, each winner must provide valid proof of identity and age. The Promoter may withhold confirmation or delivery of the prize until verification is completed.

7.5 The name and date of birth on the winner’s proof of identity must match the name and date of birth submitted when entering the Competition.

8. Fulfilment and Delivery of Prizes

8.1 Prizes will be delivered only to a valid delivery address in South Africa.

8.2 The wine prizes will be fulfilled and shipped directly to the winners by the participating wineries that sponsored the wine.

8.3 The Promoter will coordinate prize allocation and winner communication but will not itself sell wine to entrants or winners as part of the Competition.

8.4 Delivery will be subject to applicable liquor laws, courier rules, age-verification requirements and any other legal requirements that apply to the supply or delivery of alcohol.

8.5 The person accepting delivery may be required to provide proof that they are 18 years or older.

8.6 No prize may be delivered to or accepted by any person under the age of 18.

8.7 The Promoter and participating wineries may refuse or delay delivery if the recipient cannot provide adequate proof of age or identity.

8.8 The Promoter is not responsible for failed delivery where the winner provides incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible delivery details, or where no eligible adult is available to accept delivery.

9. Alcohol Warning and Responsible Consumption

9.1 Alcohol is not for sale to persons under the age of 18.

9.2 The prizes contain alcoholic beverages and may only be accepted by persons who are 18 years or older.

9.3 Winners and entrants are encouraged to consume alcohol responsibly.

9.4 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award, release or facilitate delivery of a prize where doing so may breach applicable liquor laws or responsible-trading obligations.

10. Publicity and Winner Images

10.1 The Promoter may ask winners to provide a photograph or image of themselves receiving their prize.

10.2 Providing such an image is voluntary. A winner may decline to provide an image or participate in marketing activity without forfeiting their prize.

10.3 If a winner provides an image or agrees to participate in publicity, the winner grants the Promoter permission to use their name, image, likeness, social media handle and submitted content for Competition-related publicity and marketing, without further payment, unless prohibited by law.

10.4 The Promoter will not require a winner to be present at the draw or winner announcement.

11. Personal Information

11.1 The Promoter will collect and process entrants’ personal information for purposes including:

  1. administering the Competition;
  2. verifying eligibility and age;
  3. contacting entrants and winners;
  4. allocating points or chances;
  5. arranging prize fulfilment and delivery through participating wineries;
  6. keeping legally required Competition records; and
  7. sending marketing communications where the entrant has consented or where otherwise permitted by law.

11.2 Personal information may be shared with participating wineries, service providers, delivery partners, verification providers, professional advisers and regulators where necessary for the administration of the Competition, prize fulfilment, delivery or compliance with applicable law.

11.3 Entrants are responsible for ensuring that any information they provide is accurate and up to date.

11.4 Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those communications.

11.5 The Promoter will process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and its privacy policy, available at [insert privacy policy link].

12. Referral Mechanics

12.1 Entrants may be given the opportunity to refer up to five friends as part of the Competition.

12.2 Entrants must not submit false, misleading, automated or unauthorised referrals.

12.3 The Promoter may reject referral points where referrals appear to be false, automated, duplicated, abusive or otherwise inconsistent with fair participation.

12.4 Referred persons must enter the Competition themselves and must meet all eligibility requirements.

12.5 The Promoter may limit or remove referral points if it reasonably believes that the referral mechanic has been abused.

13. Facebook and Third-Party Platforms

13.1 The Competition may be promoted on Facebook, the Promoter’s blog pages and the Promoter’s newsletter.

13.2 The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Meta, or any other third-party platform unless expressly stated otherwise.

13.3 Entrants release Facebook and Meta from any liability arising from or connected with the Competition.

13.4 Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook or Meta.

13.5 Entrants must comply with the applicable terms, rules and policies of any third-party platform through which they engage with Competition content.

14. General Conditions

14.1 The Promoter may verify entries and may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits false information, breaches these Terms and Conditions, acts unlawfully, or acts in a way that is unfair to other entrants.

14.2 The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the Competition if necessary due to fraud, technical failures, legal restrictions, force majeure, or any event beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.

14.3 The Promoter will not be liable for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, corrupted, undelivered or not received for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.

14.4 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter, participating wineries, agencies and service providers will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury or claim arising from participation in the Competition or acceptance, delivery, possession or use of any prize, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any rights that entrants may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

15. Records and Compliance

15.1 The Promoter will retain Competition records as required by applicable law.

15.2 These records may include the Competition rules, promotional materials, prize details, winner details, draw records, delivery records, verification documents and records of attempts to contact winners.

15.3 The Promoter may provide Competition records to a regulator or competent authority where required by law.

16. Governing Law

16.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

16.2 Any dispute arising from or relating to the Competition will be dealt with in accordance with South African law and applicable consumer protection processes.
